About Under The Table
We make custom art furniture from native New Zealand Timber.
The timber we use has not been cut down. We use fully matured trees that succumbed to natural felling. If you can imagine it we can make it

My journey started in 2020, when I discovered that the passion I had for my hobby of crafting beautiful art pieces exceeded far beyond creating the items themselves. Recovering and reworking ancient swamp kauri became a rewarding experience as I started to really appreciate how precious they were – and how few of them were left.
That inspired me to preserve New Zealand’s unique history through my art furniture pieces that gave new life to our past.
This was a huge turning point in my career.
From there my woodworking skills and passion to conserve New Zealand’s historical past developed greatly as I turned locally sourced accident swamp
kauri and other native timbers into some of the most bespoke and functional furniture around.

More than just a place to store cookware or e
at a meal, my creations are made with the intention of bringing people together over meals and conversations—and encouraging them to explore the beauty of real craftsmanship in their homes.
For me, working with ancient swamp kauri, is like holding history in my hands, encouraging me to share my work with fellow New Zealander’s and those overseas, so they can experience little pieces of Aotearoa’s history in their homes – with some recovered kauri laying under the earth for tens of thousands of years before being reworked by me.
